Shrub started an unneccessary war - built on lies - in Iraq and shrirked his duty in Afghanistan.

Obama is now scrambling to cleaning up the mess. Big difference there, eh?

So basically, you're claiming that calling for violence against elected officials >IS< a reasonable course of action so long as you really don't like what he did.

And all those "kill Bush" "Bush = hitler" "bush = satan" "bush = chimp" - that's just OOOZING with tolerance and consensus building.

Is this personal invective useful? Probably not. But to pretend it only exists on one side of the aisle or is something new is silly.

who's pretending it only exists on one side?

As I listen to the news, as I watch various online sites - in most cases, the anti-Bush comments were "see how angry the Bush actions have made people", while the current crop are "see how out-of-control these wackos are"

and BTW - I do find it offensive from either side. Just like it was equally offensive for Ann Coulter to be blocked from speaking as it was for William Ayers being blocked from speaking.

That's what you are saying, not me. I'm saying that the factors that led to protest are in a different context.

In keeping with the topic, by all means, post a link to a so-called "leftist" candidate or proposition that features the language "reload" or telescopic bullseyes in their graphics.

Yes, and I agree with the perspective, given the circumstances. So what's your point?

According to the latest poll, twenty-four percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of Sarah Palin, while 38 percent view her unfavorably.

Among Republicans, 43 percent have a positive view of Palin and 16 percent have a negative view. That smells like a winning percentage in the upcoming presidential primaries...

That's about the most idiotic statement that I've ever read from you, ATT. The UK, Spanish, Italians, heck even Chris Dodd, Bill and Hillary all had the exact same opinion at the time.

There were no lies, except perhaps for your revisionist history.

Shrub lied by omission. The majority of analysts at the CIA said Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, that fact was hidden from Congress and the American people.

How you can deny that Dubya shirked his duty in Afghanistan is problematical, to say the least. Osama Bin Laden still runs free, 9/11 is unavenged.

Like I said, Obama is cleaning up the disastrous mess Cheney and crew left behind.

Apparently the Palin 'magic' doesn't always rub off...

The Palin Brand

In the midst of one of the most precipitous political crashes in the Mountain West, Sarah Palin made a mad dash into Boise on Friday, urging the election of a man who had plagiarized his campaign speech from Barack Obama, had been rebuked by the military for misusing the Marine uniform and had called the American territory of Puerto Rico a separate country.

And why not? Vaughn Ward, the Republican congressional candidate from Idaho, has the dubious character trifecta of the Palin brand: bone-headed, defiant and willfully ignorant. When told that Puerto Rico was not a country, he said, “I don’t care what you call it.”

On Tuesday, this Palin protégé was routed in a huge upset, despite a big early lead in the polls, a 6-to-1 fundraising edge and that Friday fly-in by the former half-term governor, who has Idaho roots.
